As we age, the appearance of our lips loses its shape. The upper lip becomes thinner and the philtrum lengthens, which is identified as a sign of facial ageing. The philtrum, the area of skin that joins the nose to the upper lip, descends as we age, becoming flat and elongated, and with Lip Lift we can easily correct this.
The postoperative period is mild and painless. The stitches are removed after 7 days and the scar becomes invisible in a short time. During the first few days there may be some minor discomfort such as slight swelling or tightness, but this disappears quickly. The scar should be protected from sun exposure and smoking should be avoided. The scars can be covered with silicone dressings to harmonise the healing effect and make them practically imperceptible. Intense physical exercise should be avoided for about 20 days. The effects are immediate and permanent.
