This treatment consists of placing threads above the eyebrows that are directed towards the temples by means of traction. In this way, the skin is stretched and the position of the eyebrows is modified so that they are straighter and the final part is higher.
At Clínica IMEBA we apply threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO) to enhance the eyebrows and consequently the look. It is a minimally invasive treatment that is applied in a single 30-minute session, without the need for incisions or sutures.
Polydioxanone is a biocompatible and resorbable material, for example it has been used in cardiac surgery for a long time. The PDO threads are inserted into the dermis, causing collagen to form around them and thereby increasing the skin's elasticity. This tightens and firms the skin, providing a natural and immediate lifting effect.
After treatment, the patient can immediately return to normal life. The possible side effects of the treatment are minimal: oedema, redness or some bruising, which disappear after a few days.
After some time it's possible to repeat the treatment in the same area and it can be combined with other aesthetic treatments. Although this treatment cannot replace a traditional facelift, the effects achieved can help to delay the need for a surgical facelift in the eye area.
The effects of the threads regularly start to become visible after about four weeks and reach their peak approximately three months after treatment. The effect of the treatment usually lasts between 6 and 12 months. This duration varies slightly from person to person, depending on age, lifestyle, metabolism, etc.
