What is Microneedling with Radiofrequency?

Microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) is an innovative procedure for skin rejuvenation and regeneration. It combines two proven therapeutic approaches: radiofrequency energy and microneedling. IMEBA®OYA's microneedling process is more intense because it sends radiofrequency through these tiny channels into the deeper layers of the skin with each pulse. And, because it is working in such a deep layer, there is little or no thermal damage to the skin. Avoid direct, intentional sunlight for at least 24 hours. No tanning beds. No swimming for at least 24 hours after treatment. No exercise or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours after treatment.

What happens during Radiofrequency Microneedling?

For Radiofrequency Microneedling, 25 gold-coated needles are inserted into the skin at different depths. Then, within milliseconds, a heat pulse (radiofrequency energy) is emitted through the needle tips. This leads to an activation of the body's own regeneration processes, with the release of growth factors and the stimulation of connective tissue cells (fibroblasts), which in turn produce more collagen and elastin fibres. Radiofrequency Microneedling is an evolution of the classic Microneedling.

How does an RF-Microneedling treatment work?

First, the skin is thoroughly cleansed of dirt and make-up. After a local anaesthetic (cream) or a small injection (on the body) and disinfection, the skin is treated with the treatment head, which is equipped with 25 gold-plated needles in 2 - 3 different depths. Finally, the skin is taken care of with highly concentrated serums, soothing creams and sun protection products.
Depending on the size of the area to be treated (e.g. full face / neck and neckline), the treatment usually takes 60 to 90 minutes. Smaller areas (e.g. cheeks) can be treated in a much shorter time.

After a local anaesthetic in the form of an numbing cream or a local injection with an anaesthetic, pain is minimal.

After an RF-Microneedling treatment, the skin is slightly swollen and reddened for 1-2 days (weekend procedure). As a general rule, it takes 7 to 10 days to complete the healing process.

A treatment with RF-Microneedling is suitable for all skin types.
Anticoagulants should not be taken for at least one week prior to treatment. After Radiofrequency Microneedling, direct sun exposure should be avoided for approx. 6 - 8 weeks. In case of sun exposure, light protection with a sun protection factor of at least 30 should be applied.
As a follow-up, we recommend special cosmetic products with highly concentrated active ingredients to support repair or collagen production. Upon request, an individual consultation can be carried out.

The first result of a Radiofrequency Microneedling treatment is visible after 2 to 3 months, the final result can take up to 6 months. For deeper scar treatments, results are expected after at least 4 to 6 months. The result is usually permanent, however skin ageing progresses.
To achieve an optimal result with RF-Microneedling at least 2 - 3 treatments at intervals of 4 - 8 weeks are recommended, depending on the body region and skin condition. To maintain the treatment result, the treatment should be repeated once after 9 to 12 months.
For scars, wrinkles and advanced skin ageing, RF-Microneedling can be combined with CO2 laser in the same session. Clinical studies have shown significantly better results. However, RF-Microneedling can also be supported with various injections such as fillers, skin stimulants and the PRP procedure for visibly better results.
In so-called radiofrequency thermotherapy (RFTT), the sweat glands are permanently destroyed by heat pulses emitted at the tips of the needles. The armpits are first injected with a local anaesthetic. For a satisfactory result, 2 to 4 treatments at 2 month intervals are necessary.
